The osechi ryori comes in an assortment of mini-dishes inside box(es) similar to bento boxes. The dishes symbolizes a year filled with positivity and goodness.

The sweet/candied kumquat is a dish that is sometimes served in the osechi ryori. The sweet kumquat is sticky and can be known to get stuck in your mouth.
